Under the Work Division Regulation, 2083 this ministry took over social security: both non-contributory allowances (previously run through the Department of National ID and Civil Registration under the Home Ministry) and contribution-based social security and the Social Security Fund (previously under the labour ministry). What it must do

What it has delivered

2,851,382 workers were enrolled in the Social Security Fund by mid-March 2026 (685,487 formal-sector and 2,164,159 migrant workers), with 23,210 registered employers. Challenges
