What does it do?

• Each vacancy notice must state the posts, minimum qualifications, exam fee, deadlines, exam method and language. Applicants get twenty-one days from first publication, and may still apply within seven days after the deadline by paying double the fee. Applications for federal civil service posts must be made online. • Exam fees per advertisement range from Rs 2,500 for gazetted first-class (eleventh and twelfth level) posts down to Rs 300 for non-gazetted fourth-class posts, Rs 250 for drivers and Rs 200 for office assistants, with extra charges for each additional group or inclusive group applied for. • Candidates should enter the exam centre about half an hour early. No one is let in more than thirty minutes after a subjective exam starts, fifteen minutes for an objective exam, or twenty minutes for a mixed one. A candidate who misses one paper cannot sit later papers. Leaving early with the question paper cancels all exams under that advertisement. • A candidate who thinks an exam question or objective answer is wrong may apply with evidence within three days after the exam ends. After written results are published, answer books are not re-marked, but a candidate may ask within seven days for marks on one or all papers to be re-totalled. • An employee unhappy with a promotion recommendation may complain within the time set by the service law, in person or through a representative, using the Schedule-14 form with evidence and a fee of Rs 3,000 for gazetted or officer-level posts or Rs 1,500 for other posts. The Commission must not decide until at least seven days after it receives the promotion committee's response and records.
