What does it do?
- The Tharu Commission may run or arrange programmes for the economic, social, cultural, educational and community uplift of the Tharu community, to protect its rights, to end discrimination against it, and to raise awareness against harmful practices within the community. It must not do anything that disturbs social harmony. Any programme run with an international donor must be carried out with the consent and coordination of the Government of Nepal.थारु आयोगले थारु समुदायको आर्थिक, सामाजिक, साँस्कृतिक, शैक्षिक तथा सामुदायिक उत्थान, हक हितको संरक्षण, सबै प्रकारका विभेद अन्त्य र समुदायभित्रका कुरीति र कुप्रथा अन्त्य गर्न चेतनामूलक कार्यक्रम सञ्चालन गर्न वा गराउन सक्छ। आयोगले सामाजिक सद्भाव खलबलिने कुनै काम गर्नु हुँदैन। अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय दातृ निकायसँग मिलेर कुनै कार्यक्रम सञ्चालन गर्दा नेपाल सरकारको सहमति र समन्वयमा गर्नुपर्छ। Nepal Law Commission Rule 3(1)-(3), PDF pp. 1-2
- Anyone may complain to the Commission under Section 7(ड) of the Act, in person or by any other means. Every complaint must be entered in a register. A person who files in person must get a receipt; others must be told of registration by the same means they used. Original evidence must be returned after a certified copy is kept.ऐनको दफा ७ को खण्ड (ड) बमोजिम जोसुकैले आफैँ उपस्थित भई वा अन्य कुनै माध्यमबाट आयोगमा उजुरी दिन सक्छ। प्राप्त उजुरी दर्ता किताबमा दर्ता गर्नुपर्छ। आफैँ आएर उजुरी दिनेलाई दर्ताको निस्सा दिनुपर्छ र अन्य माध्यमबाट आएको उजुरी दर्ता भएको जानकारी सोही माध्यमबाट दिनुपर्छ। उजुरीसाथ पेस भएको सक्कल प्रमाणको प्रमाणित प्रतिलिपि राखी सक्कल प्रति फिर्ता दिनुपर्छ। Nepal Law Commission Rule 5(1)-(5), PDF p. 3
- The Commission does not investigate complaints itself: it sends each complaint to the relevant body with a recommendation for inquiry and investigation. - A person with an interest may ask for copies of the Commission's documents under the procedure in the law in force, and the Secretary or a designated employee must give a copy if it can be given. Decisions and documents the Commission has ruled confidential cannot be copied, and a refusal must be given in writing. The Commission must also publish information about its work through its spokesperson, information officer, website or other means.सरोकारवालाले प्रचलित कानूनको प्रक्रिया पुर्याई आयोगको कागजातको नक्कल माग्न सक्छ। नक्कल दिन सकिने भए सचिव वा निजले तोकेको कर्मचारीले नक्कल दिनुपर्छ। आयोगले गोप्य राख्नुपर्ने भनी ठहर्याएको निर्णय र कागजातको नक्कल दिइँदैन; नक्कल दिन नसकिने भए निर्णय गरी माग गर्ने व्यक्तिलाई लिखित जानकारी दिनुपर्छ। आयोगले आफ्नो काम कारबाहीको जानकारी प्रवक्ता, सूचना अधिकारी, वेबसाइट वा अन्य माध्यमबाट समय समयमा सार्वजनिक गर्नुपर्छ। Nepal Law Commission Rule 6(1)-(4) and Rule 9, PDF p. 4
