What does it do?
- Anyone (a person, organisation or government body) who wants to build a class A, B or C building must apply to the municipality for map approval on the Schedule 1 form and submit the design as well.‘क’, ‘ख’ वा ‘ग’ वर्गको भवन निर्माण गर्न चाहने व्यक्ति, संस्था वा सरकारी निकायले नक्सा स्वीकृतिका लागि अनुसूची–१ को ढाँचामा नगरपालिकामा दरखास्त दिँदा डिजाइन पनि पेस गर्नुपर्छ। Nepal Law Commission Rule 3(1), PDF p. 1
- In village development committees where the Building Act applies, the applicant must apply to the district Urban Development Office: with the map and design for a class A or B building, and with the map for a class C building. The office may ask for more documents and, if the application is in order, must approve the map or design with conditions within 30 days of the application.भवन ऐन लागू भएका गाउँ विकास समितिमा ‘क’ वा ‘ख’ वर्गको भवनका लागि नक्सा र डिजाइन, र ‘ग’ वर्गको भवनका लागि नक्सा तयार गरी सम्बन्धित जिल्लाको शहरी विकास कार्यालयमा दरखास्त दिनुपर्छ। कार्यालयले थप कागजात माग्न सक्छ र व्यहोरा मनासिब देखेमा पालना गर्नुपर्ने शर्त तोकी दरखास्त परेको तीस दिनभित्र नक्सा वा डिजाइन स्वीकृत गर्नुपर्छ। Nepal Law Commission Rules 2(ख) and 3(2)-(4), PDF pp. 1-2
- The application must include architectural and structural drawings (sanitary and electrical drawings for class A and B only), the cadastral map, the contract with the technician or consultant, and technical detail forms on how the design meets the National Building Code, signed with an affidavit of compliance. - Expert members the government appoints to the Building Construction System Improvement Committee must hold a master's degree in architecture or civil engineering with at least ten years' experience in class A or B building work, or a bachelor's degree with at least fifteen years.
