What does it do?
- The Act gives effect to the National Inclusion Commission (Article 258 of the Constitution), which works for the rights and empowerment of Khas Arya, backward classes, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, workers, farmers, minorities, marginalised communities, people of Karnali and backward regions, and economically poor groups. - Committees and task forces it forms must follow proportional inclusive representation. Bodies must cooperate with the Commission, which may write to a superior body if they do not. Ideas to fix it
- The Auditor General's 63rd report recommends that the Commission set clear bases and criteria for identifying economically poor classes, backward regions, and minority and marginalised communities and recommend them to the government, run research to identify these groups' real problems, set priorities, and coordinate with all three tiers of government to make its work more effective.
