What does it do?
- These Rules deal with worn-out or unusable controlled stores: the Nepali Army's weapons, ammunition and other items that the General Staff Department (बलाधिकृत विभाग) declares controlled. Three-member boards are set up for brigades, battalions, companies and depots, each including an expert on the items. - Units and depots must list the items on the form in the Schedule, with supporting papers. The board counts and inspects every item, visiting the site if it cannot be moved. - Items found useless are permanently marked as scrapped. The board recommends whether to repair, give to another office (with or without charge), destroy, or auction them, and its recommendation goes to the General Staff Department, which gives clearance. - Before an auction, the unit must post a notice giving the items, place and date in local newspapers where they exist and at the District Administration Office or a nearby government office and the local municipality. The auction must be held with a nearby government office or the municipality as witness.
