What does it do?
- From the donation and award money in the approved budget, the Chief of the Army Staff may give a one-time donation of up to Rs 500 to a serving or retired soldier in very poor circumstances, or after the soldier's death to the family (wife or children only). The Chief may also give up to Rs 500 at a time for military public-interest causes.प्रधान सेनापतिले स्वीकृत बजेटको चन्दा पुरस्कार रकमबाट अत्यन्त दयनीय अवस्थामा परेका बहालवाला वा अवकाशप्राप्त सैनिकलाई वा निजको मृत्युपछि परिवार (पत्नी वा छोराछोरी मात्र) लाई एक पटकमा रु. ५०० सम्म चन्दा दिन सक्छन्। सैनिक सार्वजनिक हितका लागि पनि एक पटकमा रु. ५०० सम्म चन्दा दिन सक्छन्। Nepal Law Commission Rule 2(1)(क)-(ख), PDF p. 1
- The Chief may also give an award of up to Rs 500 at a time for group competitions within the Army or for outstanding individual work. - The Chief of the Army Staff may delegate these powers to the senior generals below that post, who must act within Rule 2.
