What does it do?
- These rules cover the Singha Durbar Nachghar theatre and its property. Anyone who wants to stage a play there must apply to the officer designated by the Government at least seven days before. The application must say whether the show is for cultural promotion (with or without tickets), to raise money for a public institution or social cause, or for business or entertainment with tickets, and give the dates and times.यी नियमहरू सिंहदरबार नाचघर र त्यहाँका मालसामानमा लागू हुन्छन्। त्यहाँ नाटक देखाउन चाहने व्यक्तिले नाटक प्रदर्शन गर्नुभन्दा कम्तीमा सात दिनअगावै नेपाल सरकारले तोकेको अधिकारीसमक्ष दरखास्त दिनुपर्छ। दरखास्तमा नाटक सांस्कृतिक उत्थानका लागि टिकट लगाई वा नलगाई, सार्वजनिक संस्था वा सामाजिक कार्यका लागि कोष जम्मा गर्न, वा व्यवसाय वा मनोरञ्जनका लागि टिकट लगाएर देखाउने हो भन्ने र प्रदर्शनको अवधि र समय खुलाउनुपर्छ। Nepal Law Commission Rules 2-3, PDF p. 1
- The officer may issue a permit. The rent is Rs 50 a day. There is no rent for cultural shows without tickets or for fund-raising shows, and Rs 25 a day for cultural shows with tickets. A rent exemption applies only if the officer is convinced the show really is for cultural promotion. Half the rent must be paid before the permit is issued and the rest within seven days after the show period ends.तोकिएको अधिकारीले इजाजतपत्र दिन सक्छ। बहाल दैनिक रु. ५० लाग्छ। टिकट नलगाई देखाइने सांस्कृतिक वा कोष जम्मा गर्न देखाइने नाटकलाई बहाल लाग्दैन र टिकट लगाई देखाइने सांस्कृतिक नाटकलाई दैनिक रु. २५ मात्र लाग्छ। नाटक साँच्चै सांस्कृतिक उत्थानका लागि हो भन्ने अधिकारीलाई विश्वास भएमा मात्र बहालमा छुट पाइन्छ। बहालको ५० प्रतिशत इजाजतपत्र पाउनुअघि र बाँकी प्रदर्शनको अवधि सकिएको सात दिनभित्र बुझाउनुपर्छ। Nepal Law Commission Rules 4, 5 and 9, PDF pp. 1-2
- The Government may change the period or time of a permit, or suspend or cancel it, whenever it considers this necessary. No rent is charged for a cancelled period.
