What does it do?

  • These rules, made under Section 39 of the Police Act, 2012, set up a National Vigilance Police Service for the National Vigilance Centre created under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059. Police officers already working at the Centre joined the service automatically. Its posts run from Deputy Inspector General down to Inspector (gazetted) and Sub-Inspector (non-gazetted), and no new posts may be created after the rules began. Staff work under the Centre's chief, who answers to the minister responsible for the Centre. Nepal Law Commission Preamble, Rules 2(ख), 3-5, PDF pp. 1-3
