Summary updated 2026-10-25

  • This is a historical summary of the Consumer Protection Rules, 2056, from the Law Commission's consolidated edition. The first page gives the title as Consumer Protection Rules 2056, Nepal Gazette publication on 2056/5/31, and one amendment, the Consumer Protection (First Amendment) Rules 2070 of 2070/1/30. The rules were made under section 30 of the Consumer Protection Act 2054 and took effect immediately. The Law Commission repealed-laws listing gives the year as 2053; the catalogue corrected its title to 2056 on 2026-10-21 from the text's first page and kept the 2053 listing and stable id in its history, and this edition confirms the 2056 title. The catalogue records the rules as repealed; this edition does not say when or by what, and no repeal date is inferred. Nothing here is current consumer guidance. Nepal Law Commissionनेपाल कानून आयोग Source accessed 2026-10-25 Title page, publication date, amendment list, preamble and Rule 1, PDF p.1; year difference from catalogue id and LC listing; repeal status from catalogue
