Summary updated 2026-10-25

  • This is a historical summary of the Disabled Persons Protection and Welfare Rules, 2051, using the Law Commission's edition. The Government made them under section 24 of the Disabled Persons Protection and Welfare Act, 2039; they were published in the Nepal Gazette on 2051/8/12 and commenced immediately, and the edition lists one amendment, the first amendment Rules of 2069 (2069/9/23). An editorial footnote says the 2039 Act has been repealed and the Act relating to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, 2074 now applies. The catalogue records these Rules as repealed from the Law Commission's repealed-laws listing; no repeal date for the Rules is inferred. The text uses the older term for disabled people; this summary uses current plain wording without changing the legal meaning. Source accessed 2026-10-25 Title page, enabling clause and footnote, PDF p.1; Rule 1, p.1
