What does it do?

  • This short ordinance exists to cancel two earlier ordinances and restore the law as it stood before them. Its preamble says it was necessary to repeal some ordinances and revive the previous provisions of the Acts they had amended while Parliament was not in session. Federal Parliament Secretariat (hr.parliament.gov.np) — ordinance text as tabled in the House of Representatives Preamble and Section 1, PDF p. 1
  • It repeals the Constitutional Council (Functions, Duties, Powers and Procedure) (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2077 and the Political Parties (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2077, and provides that the provisions of the Constitutional Council (Functions, Duties, Powers and Procedure) Act, 2066 and the Political Parties Act, 2073 as they stood immediately before those amendments automatically revive. Federal Parliament Secretariat (hr.parliament.gov.np) — ordinance text as tabled in the House of Representatives Sections 2–3, PDF p. 1
  • Under Article 114 of the Constitution, an ordinance has the same force as an Act, but it must be tabled at the next session of both Houses; it ceases to have effect if both Houses do not adopt it, if the President repeals it, or sixty days after both Houses meet. The House of Representatives' ordinance-status list records it as approved (स्वीकृत भएको). Nepal Law Commission · Federal Parliament of Nepal Article 114(1)–(2), PDF p. 62; HoR ordinance-status entry
