  • According to the Schedule 2 totals (in Rs lakh), the appropriation is about Rs 1,020.6 billion for current spending, Rs 374.3 billion for capital spending and Rs 124.7 billion for financing. The largest items are grants to local levels (grant no. 801, about Rs 283.0 billion), the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport (about Rs 162.5 billion) and grants to provinces (grant no. 701, about Rs 103.7 billion). Nepal Law Commission (lawcommission.gov.np), official text Schedule 2, PDF pp. 14–15
  • The Ministry of Finance may move money from grant heads with savings to grant heads with shortfalls, up to 10 percent of the total. Money set aside for capital spending or financing generally cannot be moved to current spending, except to pay principal and interest.
