  • This ordinance regulates acid and other dangerous chemicals to protect people, animals and property from harm. 'Acid' covers inorganic acids that burn or corrode, including nitric, sulphuric and hydrochloric acid and others the government names in the Nepal Gazette. Producing, exporting, importing or selling acid or other dangerous chemicals requires a licence; licences for production, export or import are issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and last five years. Federal Parliament Secretariat (na.parliament.gov.np) — ordinance text as tabled in the National Assembly Sections 1–4 and 6, PDF pp. 1–3
  • Licence holders must follow conditions, print warning messages and hazard pictures on packaging, keep sales records, get approval before each import and report their dealings; they may not sell or give acid or other dangerous chemicals to anyone under eighteen.
