Act Amending Some Nepal Acts concerning Health Sciences Academies, 2083 BS

What does it do?

• This Act amends the laws governing six public health-sciences institutions: the B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences Act, 2049; the National Academy of Medical Sciences Act, 2063; the Patan Academy of Health Sciences Act, 2064; the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences Act, 2068; the Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences Act, 2072; and the Rapti Academy of Health Sciences Act, 2074. • In five of the institutions (all except Pokhara), the vice-chancellor is to be the full-time chief executive, appointed by the chancellor on the recommendation of a three-member committee chaired by the pro-chancellor, for a four-year term that can be extended.
