Some Nepal Acts Amendment Act, 2082 BS

What does it do?

• This omnibus Act makes 'timely reforms' to 76 existing Acts, from the Police Act, 2012 to the Insurance Act, 2079, and repeals two Acts outright: the Revenue Rights and Government Contracts Settlement Act, 2020 and the Poverty Alleviation Fund Act, 2063. • Ministers' pay is now set by the government by notice in the Nepal Gazette, and their daily and travel allowances follow the general travel-allowance law. • Workers abroad and Nepalis self-employed abroad may join the contribution-based social security scheme by paying a contribution set by gazette notice. The government may form an appeals committee, chaired by a High Court judge chosen with the Judicial Council's advice, to hear pending appeals under the earthquake reconstruction law.
