What does it do?
- This Act amends the Archives Preservation Act, 2046. It widens what counts as an archival record (from manuscripts, reports, laws, treaties, maps, files, Lalmohar and land deeds to palm-leaf, birch-bark, gold, silver, copper, stone, wood and brick inscriptions, digital or electronic records, and pottery, coins, medals, trophies and seals bearing records). It extends the Act to all public offices: federal, provincial and local governments, courts, constitutional bodies, state-owned or controlled companies and boards, universities and research centres. It adds a schedule of 'documents of national importance', such as documents bearing the royal seal (Lalmohar), documents signed by heads of state, and reports of commissions. Nepal Gazette (Nepal Rajpatra), Department of Printing, Government of Nepal — scanned gazette issue Section 2, amending Section 2, PDF pp. 2–5; Section 13, Schedule, PDF pp. 14–16
