What does it do?

• The Act establishes Rajarshi Janak University, with its central office in Dhanusha district, to teach and research arts, science, medicine, agriculture, forestry, tourism, Ayurveda, law, management, education, oriental philosophy and technical and vocational subjects, and to widen access to quality higher education under a multi-university approach. Ramswaroop Ramsagar Multiple Campus in Janakpurdham, previously under Tribhuvan University, became its base campus.यो ऐनले बहुविश्वविद्यालयको अवधारणाअनुरूप सबै क्षेत्रका जनतालाई गुणस्तरीय उच्च शिक्षाको अवसर सुलभ गराउन कला, विज्ञान, चिकित्साशास्त्र, कृषि, वन, पर्यटन, आयुर्वेद, कानून, व्यवस्थापन, शिक्षा, प्राच्य दर्शन, प्राविधिक र व्यावसायिक विषयमा अध्ययन, अध्यापन र अनुसन्धान गर्न धनुषा जिल्लामा केन्द्रीय कार्यालय रहने गरी राजर्षि जनक विश्वविद्यालय स्थापना गर्छ। त्रिभुवन विश्वविद्यालयअन्तर्गत रहेको जनकपुरधामको रामस्वरूप रामसागर बहुमुखी क्याम्पसलाई यसको आधार क्याम्पस बनाइएको छ। Nepal Law Commission Preamble; Section 3, pp. 1–3
• The university's officials are the Chancellor (the Prime Minister), the Pro-Chancellors (the federal education minister or minister of state and the Chief Minister of the province concerned), the Vice-Chancellor, the chair of its service commission, the Registrar, deans, directors and campus chiefs. • The university organises faculties, research centres and campuses, develops curricula, and under a special provision could take over Tribhuvan University constituent campuses designated by its Assembly.
