What does it do?

  • The Act establishes the Patan Academy of Health Sciences as an autonomous body to produce skilled health workers through high-level study and research in health sciences and to provide quality health services to the public through its hospital. It is governed by an Assembly, academic and executive councils and a service commission; it runs its own educational institutions and hospital, may absorb other health-science institutions, but may not grant affiliation to other institutions. Nepal Law Commission (lawcommission.gov.np), consolidated official text Preamble; Sections 3–17, pp. 1–13; Sections 30–31, p. 17
