What does it do?
- The Act establishes the Local Development Training Academy, an autonomous body headquartered in Kathmandu, to improve the administrative and management capacity of local levels by providing high-level training to people involved in local development, and so support the institutional development of local bodies. It also researches its training programmes and provides problem-focused research, consultancy and information services to make training more useful and to prepare training materials.यो ऐनले स्थानीय विकाससँग सम्बन्धित व्यक्तिलाई उच्चस्तरीय प्रशिक्षण दिई स्थानीय तहको प्रशासनिक र व्यवस्थापकीय क्षमता बढाउन र स्थानीय निकायको संस्थागत विकासमा सघाउन काठमाडौंमा मुख्य कार्यालय रहने स्वशासित संस्थाका रूपमा स्थानीय विकास प्रशिक्षण प्रतिष्ठान स्थापना गर्छ। प्रशिक्षणलाई बढी उपयोगी बनाउन र प्रशिक्षण सामग्री तयार गर्न प्रतिष्ठानले प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रमसम्बन्धी अनुसन्धान, समस्यामूलक अनुसन्धान, परामर्श र सूचना सेवा पनि सञ्चालन गर्छ। Nepal Law Commission Preamble; Sections 3–6, pp. 1–3
- The Academy's supreme body is a council chaired by the Minister or Minister of State for Federal Affairs and General Administration, with the assistant minister as vice-chair, the National Planning Commission member for local development and secretaries of the finance, education, physical infrastructure and other ministries, among others. An executive director runs its work and staff.प्रतिष्ठानको सर्वोच्च निकाय सङ्घीय मामिला तथा सामान्य प्रशासन मन्त्री वा राज्यमन्त्रीको अध्यक्षतामा रहने परिषद् हो, जसमा सहायक मन्त्री उपाध्यक्ष, राष्ट्रिय योजना आयोगका स्थानीय विकास हेर्ने सदस्य र अर्थ, शिक्षा, भौतिक पूर्वाधार लगायतका मन्त्रालयका सचिव सदस्य रहन्छन्। कार्यकारी निर्देशकले प्रतिष्ठानको काम र कर्मचारी व्यवस्थापन गर्छन्। Nepal Law Commission Sections 7–9, 12–13, pp. 3–6
- The Academy has its own fund and audited accounts, publishes an annual progress report, and deals with the Government through the line ministry.
