What does it do?
- This Act made Nepal a member of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Bank Group's private-sector arm, on the terms the IFC's Board of Governors set out in Schedule 1. It lets the Minister of Finance authorise a person in writing to sign the IFC's Articles of Agreement for Nepal and to deposit Nepal's instrument of acceptance with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.यो ऐनले अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय फाइनान्स कर्पोरेसन (IFC), अर्थात् विश्व बैङ्क समूहको निजी क्षेत्रमा लगानी गर्ने संस्थाको सदस्यता नेपाललाई अनुसूची–१ मा उल्लिखित गभर्नर बोर्डका सर्तमा प्राप्त गराएको हो। यसले अर्थमन्त्रीलाई कर्पोरेसन सम्झौतामा हस्ताक्षर गर्न र नेपालको स्वीकृतिको लिखत अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय पुनर्निर्माण तथा विकास बैङ्कमा दाखिल गर्न कुनै व्यक्तिलाई लिखित अख्तियारी दिने अधिकार दिएको छ। Nepal Law Commission, Government of Nepal Preamble and Section 3, pp. 1–2; Schedule 1, pp. 4–5
- Under the membership terms, Nepal subscribes to 55 shares of the IFC's capital stock at USD 1,000 each. - Despite anything in other Nepali law, the IFC has in Nepal the legal status, immunities and privileges set out in Article 6 of its Articles of Agreement (Schedule 4).
