What does it do?
- The Act abolished all the semi-autonomous principalities (rajya) that existed in Nepal up to the day before it came into force, and bars anyone from exercising any power as a raja or rajauta of such a principality. Earlier laws, orders and documents about the principalities and their rulers are treated as repealed or amended to fit this Act. Nepal Law Commission, Government of Nepal Sections 2 and 7, pp. 2–3
- The revenue offices of the abolished principalities became government revenue offices, and their records became government records; until the government orders otherwise, they continue collecting revenue for the government as before. Nepal Law Commission, Government of Nepal Section 5, pp. 2–3
- Where rajas or rajautas recognised by law until the end of Chaitra 2064 ran worship at temples or monasteries without a separate income source, the Guthi Sansthan must, on government order, pay for that worship from Raj Guthi income as before. Nepal Law Commission, Government of Nepal Section 6, p. 3
