Editorial standards and independence

How we decide what to publish, and how you can check us.

Nepali translation awaiting review

Nonpartisan, and no party’s opponent

Policy Nepal does not support or oppose any political party or candidate. We apply the same questions, evidence and standards to every party and public official, and we credit good work wherever it happens.

Evidence you can follow

Every factual statement, figure and position on our issue pages links to a source we opened, with the page or section and the date we checked it. Official records lead for official acts.

We keep kinds of evidence apart: the Constitution and laws; government plans and policies, which show intent rather than results; official data; independent research; party proposals, which show what a party says; and representative surveys. Website polls are never presented as public opinion.

We do not invent figures, scores, rankings or consensus. Where official sources disagree or evidence is missing, we say so. A missing record means “not established in reviewed sources”, not that someone did nothing or holds a view.

Fairness when the record is disputed

An allegation, an investigation, a charge and a judgment are different things, and we label them separately with dates and the latest outcome. People and parties may respond to consequential claims, and relevant responses are published.

Research before publication

Research is not publication. Records go through draft, editorial review and publication. Nepali text written by our team is marked as awaiting review until a native Nepali editor approves it.

Who we are

Policy Nepal is an independent think tank in its founding stage. Our legal registration, governance, editorial team and funding will be disclosed on this page as they are established. No one can pay to change, remove or place coverage.
