Corrections and right of reply

The record must be correctable. Here is how corrections work.

How we handle corrections

  1. Identify the exact page, passage or record and the evidence that it is wrong or incomplete.
  2. Editors check the evidence using the same standards for everyone.
  3. Factual errors are corrected visibly, with the date and reason recorded in the page’s change history.
  4. Differences of interpretation are not treated as errors, but a documented response may be added.
  5. No payment is ever accepted to change, remove or place coverage.

Right of reply

Parties, public officials and others named in consequential claims may send a documented response. Relevant responses are published next to the claim, with the date received.

Sending a request

The submission channel is not open yet. It will open with a named editorial contact and a published review time. Until then, corrections we find ourselves are recorded in each page’s change history.
